How to connect to DCS Secure Wi-Fi

Overview

DCS_SECURE is the only wireless network that should be used for wireless capable Windows devices managed by Dothan City Schools.

Personal devices including mobile phones are not permitted on any DCS network.

Student accounts are currently not allowed to to enroll devices.

Connecting to the DCS Secure Wireless network

Step 1 – At the Windows desktop screen, click on the internet icon located at the lower right-hand corner of the screen.

Step 2 – Ensure that the Wi-Fi option is enabled and select the “DCS_Secure” wireless network from the list of wireless networks in range.

Step 3 – You will be prompted to enter your user name and password,

Do NOT select the option “Connect using a certificate”

Step 4 – Enter the user name and password that you use to login to the windows computer with. This is your domain credentials.

Step 5 – Press “OK”

If an error occurs, please confirm your credentials and try again.

If the error continues to occur, you may need to reset your password. Please see the KB article on “How do I change my DCS network password”.

Success! You are now connected to the DCS Secure Wireless Network.

Optional steps for troubleshooting

Forget the wireless network

You may need to forget the previous wireless network settings before connecting to the DCS_Secure wireless network that uses the new login method. This should only have to be done one time per device.
